Question by amy a: Is it bad feng shui to keep a car that I have had a lot of accidents in?
Hi, I have a car that I love but is currently in the shop. The car and I have been through several minor accidents together, and while the car is going to be completely structurally sound, I am wondering if it is bad feng shui to keep the car? I am planning on doing some “space clearing,” to get rid of negative energies in the vehicle, would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

Answer by Breeze
it’s no problem. feng shui studies positive energy’s circuit. i don’t see how would you be affected if you keep a car with a lot of accidents.

Question by I know I know!: What color to paint the kitchen for good feng shui?
I have recently started reading about Feng Shui and learned that our kitchen is in the worst part of the house (Northwest) and that a kitchen should never be red (ours is cranberry red). I really don’t want to repaint our kitchen white but am open to other colors that are good Feng Shui for attracting good luck, prosperity, wealth, etc.
Any suggestions? Please list how long you have been interested in Feng Shui and why you are suggesting the color you are.
Thanks in advance!

I need to rearrange my house a certain way to be more harmonize and better energy flow and my home office needs to be worked on more and I have books on feng shui but I don’t know how to apply them very well. I need help in finding an online feng shui expert to reduce the cost of the consultation that can look at my floor plan and digital pictures of my house and give me suggestions on how to rearrange things. Question by Mandy: What are the basics of feng shui?
I want to learn more about feng shui. I have heard that what most websites give are “western” takes on feng shui and not right. What are the basics of true feng shui and how can I apply those principles to my home?
Best answer:
Answer by mindshift
I am recommending two books I have found especially helpful in Feng Shui: “Feng Shui Step By Step” by T. Raphael Simons, and “Practical Feng Shui” by Simon Brown. The first gives you an intro into the numerology behind Feng Shui that makes the design fixes more personal. It also deals with a home’s layout, and room layouts. The second book explains the principals of Feng Shui, and gives detailed fixes for locations of rooms. Both of these are very helpful in understanding the concepts.
The two main ways of looking at your home are to start from the front door, or from a particular compass direction. The eight directions correspond to the compass points, and to the five “elements.” North is water. Continuing in a clockwise manner, northeast is earth. East is tree, and southeast is tree. The south is fire. Southwest earth. West is metal, and northwest is metal. The center of the home is earth. If you use the door method it correlates to the North, and the elements move around in the same clockwise manner. I prefer the compass point method. There is way too much detail for me to even begin to explain, so go to your bookstore and look for the most detailed book available.
The one problem Feng Shui has is in dealing with bathrooms. When Feng Shui was invented there were no baths. Water had to be hauled in, heated, then hauled out after the bath; a time consuming and relatively expensive use of servants. In Feng Shui water is a tricky commodity. It is both creative (rain for crops), and destructive (floods). So the bath is not viewed in the Western sense of being a haven for relaxation and regeneration; it is viewed mainly as a negative area.

Question by vinsthemann: Feng Shui and fake plants/flowers as decoration in a house?
This is kind of a 2 part question. I heard on tv that fake plants and flowers are bad fend shui in a home. Anyone know if this is true? My mom has fake plants, trees, flowers all over her house and its the house I grew up in and I never was really comfortable there. I dont really consider it my childhood “home”, that title goes to house i lived in when i was even younger. Of course there could be a million reasons for why I would feel that way, feng shui might have nothing to do with it but I wonder. Anyone out there know anything about feng shui? i also had some issues as a kid/teenager that started after we moved into my moms house (age 8 and over). again-could be for any reason but could “bad” feng shui have anything to do with it? okay for all you “feng shui is crap” folks out there, I understand your position but I happen to think theres something to it so if you dont have anything constructive to add please keep your opinions to yourself. thanks to all.

Question by Angrygirl5: In Feng Shui, is it okay to have your bed parallel to the bedroom window?
I just started to become interested in Feng Shui. I plan to get a book about this subject because I know very little. I thought I heard that if you put your bed parallel to the bedroom window that all of your positive energy will go out the window while you sleep? Is this true? I’ve had my bed like this for years and my life has sucked. Also, I have a couch that somebody gave me. I also read that you shouldn’t take furniture from anyone because of all their negativity could be brought into your home. Is it okay to accept secondhand if you really need something?
I live in an apartment building. The layout of the bedroom is pretty cookie cutter and standard. There is just a parking lot outside the window. I am in a bottom floor/basement apt.

the head of your bed should always be pointing NORTH

I know home sales are lowww at this time but is there anythign that i can do to the house that will attract buyers? I heard I can use a good fortune cat at the front door. Is there anything else I can use and or do to add more feng shui to the house?
Ps I dont judge your beliefes dont judge mine. In other word don’t leave an answer if its to critisize or send negativity. thanks for the good notes, and for not waisting our time.
This house has been re-painted, new energy windows installed, and it is clutter freee i wouldnt be trying to sell a houe that looks like rat hole.
I simply ask about feng shui becaue i enjoy the method and for those who dont know it or use it to each person there own. honestly with out being rude please dont leave answers to get points if you are not familiar with feng shui just move on to a nother question.
